SNOW!!!!

Dec. 9th. We finally got a good snow storm where the kids (that would be Megan and Robert!) could go out and play.  Here are some fun pictures.  Megan was having a blast.  My job was to take the pictures and dodge the snowballs!

All smiles and having fun.

Doesn't that just look like trouble.

Megan's week with Precious

Megan was so excited.  She finally got to bring the class pet, Precious the monkey, home for the week.  She had been looking forward to this since school started in September.  She made sure that she took it with her everywhere she went and she cuddled up with it every night.  Here are some pictures of her and Precious.  Needless to say, it was a sad day when she had to take him back to school.

Megan's 4 year Birthday Party!

Megan had a wonderful birthday.  We planned a surprise birthday party for her.  Robert and Grandpa took Megan out to go to the fish store and then out to eat.  Grandma and I stayed behind and quickly decorated the house and got ready for her party.  I was very grateful to have the help since I only had about 2 hours to get everything ready.  She had 3 friends come to her party, Inga, Roby, and Madelyn.  They were all dressed as princesses.  Megan was so surprised when she came home to the house all decorated and her friends here.  They had a great time playing games, decorating princess wands and purses and having cake and ice cream.

We also had a family party for her that evening.  She enjoyed blowing out her candles again and opening presents.  I am so glad grandma and grandpa could be here to celebrate with her.

Halloween 2012

Megan had her costume picked out 2 months before Halloween.  As soon as she saw the dress for Merida, she loved it.  That's what she wanted to be.  She hadn't even seen the movie "Brave" yet, but wanted to be Merida.  I'm glad we got the costume early, because then she was also able to wear it in Disneyland.  We had a few Halloween parties (one with her preschool) and then Halloween night, so I'd say we got our money's worth.  She enjoyed trick-or-treating.  She made it to about 15 homes before she was done.  I think the main reason she was ready to be done is because she wanted to get home and have some candy!  Robert and Megan decorated the house for Halloween and did an awesome job, but I didn't get any pictures of it.  Sorry, I'll try better next year.

Pumpkin patch 2012

We were in Colorado for a few days after heading to Disneyland, so we had a chance to meet up with our friends.  We met at the pumpkin patch so the kids could run and play.  Megan was so excited to see her friends, especially Talia.  We also got her 4 year pictures taken while we were back in Colorado and I'm so excited to see how they turned out.  I will post them as soon as I get them.

Disneyland: Meeting the Princesses

One of the highlights of this trip was Megan meeting the princesses.  For the past year she has been playing princess, watching princess movies, and reading princess books.  She would wait in line for however long it took just to meet a princess.  No whining, no complaining.  The line was 45 minutes to meet Repunzel, so we were going to let dad stand in line while I took her to go look around or ride a ride.  She couldn't handle it.  She was afraid that dad was going to get to meet Repunzel without her.  So, I took her back to stand in line with her dad, and that made her very happy.  We met Repunzel and Merida out in the Disneyland park and the rest we met during her Breakfast with the Princesses.  The breakfast turned out to be a very nice, organized event where all the little girls got to spend time with each princess (without lines!).  I'm glad we did that.

Sea World in California

Our first full day in California, we drove up to Sea World.  Megan was so excited, although she didn't really know what to expect.  The first thing we did when we got there was ride some rides.  She loves riding rides.  The bigger the better.  Then we watched the dolphin show and of course sat in the splash zone and got all wet.  Megan thought that was great.  The show was awesome.  We saw lots more marine animals and a couple more shows and then of course we had to hit the rides one more time before calling it a day.  Here are some pics from our adventures.

I know Robert's head is cut-off, but Megan's expression is priceless.

First Minnesota Camping trip

On Mother's Day weekend, we headed north to go camping.  We reserved a campsite in Tettagouche State Park which ended up to be about a 5 hour drive.  Good thing Robert got out of work early on Friday for the drive up.  Megan did really well, but did ask numerous times "where's our camp spot?"  We couldn't have picked a better weekend.  The weather was gorgeous and the campsite was over half empty.  They had some great hiking trails that were nice and short and lead to waterfalls and the river.  The campsite was also near Lake Superior, which was fascinating to see.  We took so many pictures that it is hard to pick just a few to put in the blog.  I got a pancake breakfast on Mother's Day and then didn't even have to help with the dishes and clean-up after breakfast.  Plus, I got a new washer and dryer.....that will be delivered in about a month.  Life is good!

Megan loved playing and splashing in the water.

Nadia loved the water too.

What camping trip isn't complete without going potty outside?  Really, she insisted on going outside and not in the camper.  She is going to love this picture when she gets older!

Of course, she had to put her feet in the waves coming in by the lake.
