Our first camping trip this year

Yea!  Camping season is here.  We wanted to go camping this last weekend, but we didn't have reservations anywhere.  So, Robert drove the camper up on Thursday night after work to get a spot and then set it up and drove home so he could go to work on Friday.  What a devoted father.  Then on Friday afternoon we headed up.  Robert found a great little campsite up just past Nederland.  We finished setting up camp and then enjoyed dinner and smores around the campfire.  Megan doesn't really like smores (like her mommy) but she loves roasted marshmellows.  She likes her daddy to toast them over the campfire and then hand the gooey marshmellow to her.  Needless to say, she ends up a sticky mess.

The next day after breakfast and a little hammock fun, we decided to go horseback riding.  Just down the road from our campsite was a little place that advertised horseback riding.  Megan was so excited to go on a real horse ride.  Since she was only 2, she had to ride with someone that worked there.  At first we wondered if she would be OK with that, but she didn't mind as long as she got to ride a horse.  Her horses name was Poppy, and she has been talking about Poppy ever since.

Going to ride some horses!

Trip to Powell

We took a trip up to Powell over Memorial Day weekend to see Robert's family and put flowers on the gravestones in Thermopolis for my grandparents and uncles.  We got to see all of Robert's family and enjoyed the time there.  Taelyne came over from Billings with her boys and Megan enjoyed having some "kid" company.  Rodney and Carol also came by to see us.  Granma Shirley was doing great and Megan and her loved playing Wii Animal Crossings together.  Megan could sit for hours telling Grandma Shirley what to do and where to go.  It was so good that we had the chance to get up there to see Robert's grandparents as his grandpa wasn't doing so well and actually ended up passing away just about 2 weeks later.  Megan stayed with Grandma Roessing in Denver (as she had just taken that long car ride) while Robert and I went up for the funeral.

Easter

We had lots of fun this Easter.  We had a fun Easter party with our friends at Will's house and then we dyed Easter eggs at Grandma's house with Dylan and Ryan and Atley (Dylan and Ryan's cousin).

On Easter morning,  after finding the Easter eggs and presents that the Easter Bunny hid at our house, we went over to Grandma's house.  For Easter Megan got some small items and a princess kitchen.  She loved the kitchen.  We had brunch at Grandma's house and then went to the park for an Easter Egg hunt.
Trying on the bunny mask Grandma gave her.

Looking for those Easter eggs.

Spring is here!

We were all so happy to see some nice weather.  I was itching for a hike, so we all headed up to Boulder to go for a hike.  I carried Megan in the backpack, hoping that would be easier for Robert's knee, but he was still in quite a bit of pain.  He kept a smile on his face though and toughed it out for me.

Spring also brought some good kite flying weather.  Robert and Megan picked out a kite and headed out to the park to learn how to fly a kite.  She did well for awhile and then decided playing at the park was more fun.

Happy St. Patricks Day - March 2011

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a party, of course.  We had lots of green food, green fun and even some little leprechaun's!

Megan's dance recital

Megan's first real dance recital.  I was so excited and so nervous.  It was on Saturday March 12th.  Grandma and Grandpa Roessing came up for the big event.  I got Megan all ready in the dressing room and then she was able to come watch the first part of the recital until it was time for her to go backstage.  She loved watching all the other kids dance.  Then when I took her backstage and had to leave her, she started to cry.  I was so worried as I went to my seat that she wouldn't come out on the stage.  She did wonderful though.  She flapped her little arms and did lots of spins.  Then when it was over she started to run to the edge of the stage (after her dance in class she would always run to the front of the room to give mommy a big hug).  The teacher caught her before she ran right off the stage.  We were all so proud.

Christmas 2010

We had a lovely Christmas at home this year.  It was a lot of fun watching Megan get excited about Santa and her presents.  On Christmas Eve we went to church with my parents.  She loved watching baby Jesus in the Chritsmas story and kept asking for him even after the story was finished.  Then on Christmas morning she woke up and whispered "Santa" with such excitement.  It was adorable.  From Santa she got a big train table and train set.

A new doll from Grandma Shirley.
Putting her new doll to bed in her baby bed.  So busy.
Getting so big that this year only 1 leg fit into the stocking.

Just some cute pictures

Here are just some random cute pictures of Megan.

Walking on the beam at gymnastics class.

Cuddling up in mommy's bed after her bath.

She thought it was fun to take a "bath" in the sink.

All of these were taken between Oct. 2010 to December 2010.

Megan's first dance program, Dec - 2010

Megan started her first dance class on Nov. 1st of 2010.  This is her first class that mommy doesn't join her for class.  At first she didn't like it that I walked out of the classroom, but after a few weeks she caught on that I come "right back" and that it is a lot of fun.  Right before Christmas they performed a little dance for us.  I have now tried for days to get the video to load, so I am now giving up so I can hopefully get to the year 2011 soon.  Here are some pictures instead.
