Our busy 1 year old

Megan is one happy little girl. She loves getting into things and exploring. It is so much fun to watch her.

Who needs toys when there are boxes to play with!

I hope she always enjoys saving this much!

Megan's 1st Birthday

Yes, I know it is hard to believe, but our little Megan turned 1 on Nov. 4th. I am both happy and sad to see her growing up. I know I will miss the helpless baby stage, but at the same time I love seeing her grow and become independent. She has become such a little person now. She loves reading books and choosing which book she wants to read. She loves playing ball and going new places to explore. Everyday she is becoming more and more of a Daddy's girl. Not only is she looking more and more like him, but it appears that she now has Daddy's taste buds as they like the same food; pickles, olives, salt and vinegar chips. The other day I put a chocolate chip (my favorite food!) in her mouth and she spit it out, then proceeded to eat a pickle with her Dad.

She is now 19 pounds and is 29 inches tall. She is crawling all over the place, pulling up, saying a few words (mom, dad, dog) and starting to walk. She has her two bottom front teeth and is working on getting her two front top teeth.

For her birthday we just had a small party at Grandma and Grandpa Roessings. She opened presents and did quite well at pulling the wrapping paper off the presents once Daddy got it started for her. She then had a cupcake which she thought was fun to smear all over the tray and squish in her hands, but she didn't have any interest in eating it. It was fun feeding it to Mommy though. Here are some pictures of her birthday.

She didn't much care for the chocolate

but it was fun to squish in the hands

.....and really fun to feed it to Mommy!

Happy Halloween

Here at the Norris house we had a great Halloween. First, we visited a Pumpkin patch to see some baby animals and to pick some pumpkins. It was a beautiful day and we got some good pictures of the family. We also decided to throw a fun Halloween party for some friends and enjoyed getting the house all decorated. Robert was the Invisible Man and I was a hippie. Unfortunately, we were too busy to snap a picture of ourselves but, don't worry, we got plenty of Megan. She was a bunny...a very cute bunny I might add.

First trip to the zoo

Last Thursday we took Megan to the zoo for the first time. Grandma and Grandpa Roessing came along and so did Megan's cousin Dylan. My friend Patricia and her baby Will also joined us for some fun. It was Will's first time at the zoo also. Everyone had a good time. It was such a beautiful day to spend at the zoo. I was amazed how many of the animals Megan actually enjoyed watching. We only took a few pictures (I guess we were too busy looking at all the animals), but here they are.

Video of Megan crawling

In the last week Megan has perfected crawling. Now it takes her no time at all to go from one end of the room to the other. She has even mastered crawling up entry way stairs. There is no stopping her now. This video was taken on 8/13. She had only been crawling for a few days at this point and was still a little slow. It is so cute to watch her.

Megan is 9 months old!

It's hard to believe that Megan is 9 months old. She has grown and changed so much just in the last month. She is now 17# 7 oz. and is 27.5 inches long. She has begun to crawl although she still prefers to scoot on her belly. Either way, she gets where she wants to go. She is also pulling herself up. She has one little tooth on the bottom that is trying to come in. We can't see it yet, but we can feel it. She enjoys playing, loves reading books, and is always squirming. Here are some recent pictures of her.

What a little angel sleeping. I guess she found a comfortable position.

Hey, this is better. Now lets go!

Even better! I'm ready for my first driving lesson.

Baby Birds

We were lucky enough to have a mommy bird build her nest in one of our hanging flower baskets. Every few days we would check on the eggs to see their progress....of course being very careful as to not disturb them. Robert got some great pictures of the baby birds growing up. I think there were 5 of them.

Trip to Powell

We took another trip up to Powell, Wyoming so we could see Robert's family. We took our time traveling and stopped and stayed in Thermopolis and Casper to break the drive up. Although Megan did wonderful traveling the 9 hour drive when she was 2 months old, we figured this time she has a lot more of a say so when she is sick of the car seat. It was so good to see Robert's family and Reba in Thermopolis and Jack and Char Price in Casper. Taelyne and her new baby, Calen, was in Billings visiting some friends, so she was able to come to Powell and see us too. Here are some pictures of our trip!

The trip started good. Megan taking a nice nap in her car seat.

Megan getting a diaper change in the front seat of the car (make shift changing table!) Robert and Megan thought it was funny as I was just trying to get the job done.

Megan decided we had been in the car for too long and that we needed to get out and spend some time in Wheatland. We decided to have lunch there and let Megan play for a while. She had a good time playing with her Dad's cell phone and hat. What a Daddy's girl!
