Going to the Airport

Today is the day.  We are off to Minnesota to start our "new adventure."  Every time I was sad about leaving, Robert would remind to think about our "new adventure."  I finally told him not to mention those words anymore.  Sometimes a girl just gets to be sad.  Saying goodbye to my parents was hard.  Megan didn't really understand that we were leaving to move.  I think she just thought we were taking another trip to go see Daddy.  That was good though.  She wasn't sad, just excited.

Goodbye parties

The house got all packed and loaded and on its way to Minnesota.  We closed on our Colorado house on Jan. 27th.  Everything went smooth.  I, of course, cried though.  Robert left on Saturday morning with Nadia and my Jeep to drive to MN.  Megan and I get to stay an extra week in Colorado while Robert takes care of closing on our new house and unloaded the moving van.  We get to stay with my mom and dad and have some going away parties.  My girlfriends had a going away party for me at Canvas and Cocktails.  We all got to paint pictures and take them with us.  I figure I can hang it up at my new house and always remember the good times I had with them.  Megan had her going away party at Chuck-E-Cheese.  All her friends gave her books for her going away presents.  That was perfect since they can easily be packed and provide some airplane entertainment.  We have lots of friends we are going to miss dearly.

Christmas celebration with Roessing's

Yea!  Robert is home to help me finish up with packing and to make sure everything goes smooth with the moving company.  Dad is out of the hospital and feeling better.  Each day he gets a little bit stronger and doesn't hurt so much.  So, it is finally time to celebrate Christmas with my family.  The Baxter's came over and we all enjoyed a nice breakfast and then opened presents.  Here is a cute picture of Megan and her cousins.

Megan's first haircut

It is time.  Time to get those cute little curls cut.  I can't believe she is 3 and we haven't had to do this yet.  Her curls helped from seeing those uneven, straggly ends.  But brushing that beastly hair has become just too much.  Megan is excited to get her hair cut.  First she told me she wanted it cut like Daddy's, but thank goodness I was able to talk her out of that.  We decided on just taking off a couple inches off the ends.  Nothing too fancy.  Here are the pictures.
Sitting in the firetruck, ready to go.

Now a lollipop in her hands...even better.

After a couple inches have been cut off

She decided she wanted pigtails in the end.

New Year's 2012

We are celebrating the New Year in Minneapolis.  Megan and I flew out to be with Daddy and to house hunt.  We spent Thursday and Friday house hunting.  Megan did really well getting drug in and out of houses.  She loved all the ones that had swing sets in the backyard.  She also really liked one that had a pink potty.  We had to talk her out of that one!  We finally agreed on a house that all of us like.  It has a swing set in the backyard for Megan, and nice big kitchen and laundry room for me, and a 3 car garage and a big yard for Robert.  We put an offer on the house and if all goes well, we should close on January 30th.  Now that the house hunting is done, it was time to enjoy the rest of the weekend.  On New Year's Eve we went to Mall of America.  We had a wonderful dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe (of course Megan made out with some new things) and then we rode the rides at Nickelodeon land for awhile.  Megan had a blast and wasn't ready to go home even though it was getting late.  Robert was staying at a lovely apartment that I found for him for temporary housing.  He loved the diverse neighborhood and was so excited that I got to see his little home.  I didn't think it was all that bad (especially since he travels every week and is mostly there on the weekends.)  Here is a picture of the house we put an offer on as that is the only pictures I have of the entire weekend.  Sometimes that darn camera just doesn't make it out of the bag even though I packed it with good intentions.

Christmas 2011

Christmas is here.  Our house is under contract, so that worry is over.  Now we just have to get thru inspections and what-not.  Robert was able to fly home for Christmas.  Christmas morning was fun.  It was just our family as my Dad was in the hospital awaiting heart surgery.  For some reason we didn't take any pictures, just video.  So, I chose one of her dancing with her new princess dolls.  From Santa she got all the princess dolls and a Repunzel dress (hanging on the tree).  She was very happy.

Megan's 3rd Birthday party

Robert left for Minneapolis earlier in the week.  He loaded up all of his stuff and drove the truck with the camper attached.  On Nov. 2nd, our house went on the market.  It's been a busy week.  Robert flew home for the weekend and Megan's birthday party, as he didn't want to miss her party, and I wasn't sure I could handle it myself.  On Friday Nov. 4th, we celebrated at Grandma Edie's house opening presents from all of the family and having her birthday cake.  She loves blowing out candles.
So happy about her birthday cake.  Thanks Grandma Edie.

Taking a little taste.  Who could resist?

Which one next?  Such decisions

Then on Sunday Nov. 6th, we had her birthday party.  Megan chose to have her birthday at Jump Street.  We asked her a couple times just to be sure, and each time she wanted Jump Street.  All of her friends, except Tommy, made it.  Dylan and Ryan got to come too with Grandma and Grandpa.  I think all the kids had fun jumping and playing and then having pizza and cupcakes.

Megan's 3 year pictures

Once again, we took Megan to Audrey Imfeld for her 3 year pictures, and once again we had too many cute ones to choose from.  She always does a great job capturing her little personality.  The weather was a little bit too cold for any outside shots, so they were all done in her studio this year.  With an early November birthday, you never know what to expect with Colorado's weather.  We also had her picture taken in her Halloween costume.  She wanted to be a ladybug again.  The costume from last year still fit, so I was all for it.

Megan singing

Here is a video of Megan singing one of her favorite songs. Grandma Edie got a birthday card with the song and Megan thought it was the best. This is the first time I am trying to link a video....I hope it works!

October Fun

Wow!  Lots of things happened in October.  First, we found out that Robert got a job in Minneapolis and that we would be putting our house on the market and moving.  Second, Grandma Shirley came to visit us and we had a great time.  We also had lots of Halloween fun, as that is such a fun holiday with pumpkin patches and costumes.  Finally, we got to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and some fun winter snow.  Megan loved playing in the snow this year.

Fun with Grandma Shirley

We went to the Aquarium with Grandma Shirley.  Megan's favorite part is watching the mermaid show.  Then after the show she got her picture taken with the mermaids.

Such beautiful fall colors.  Then, the very next day.....

SNOW...AND LOTS OF IT!
